A Pittsburgh man is facing charges after being accused of breaking into a Jackson Township home and burning the resident with boiling water.
The incident occurred on Thursday just after 5 p.m. on the 2200 block on Perry Highway.
According to charging documents, 33-year-old Walid Kourami broke into the victim’s home in search of his girlfriend. Once inside, the home owner and Kourami got into a physical altercation. While fighting, Kourami is accused of grabbing boiling water, throwing it on the victim, then hitting the victim with the pot.
Kourami’s girlfriend was found in the home hiding but told police she was afraid of Kourami and had gone to the Jackson Township home for safety.
Kourami has been charged with burglary, aggravated assault, criminal trespassing, and two counts of simple assault. He has also been placed in the Butler County Prison on $100,000 bond.
A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for September 30.
