Students and staff at a local school district will remember the victims of 9/11 with a special activity later this week in a new location.
Beginning around 3 p.m. Tuesday, members of the Pine-Richland/Mars Area U.S. Air Force JROTC will lead an effort to plant 2,977 American flags. Since the usual area is under construction, the installation will take place at Richland Elementary School in Gibsonia.
This is done annually as part of the “9/11: Never Forget Project” and the number represents one for each person who died in the September 11th attacks.
The flags will be on display through Thursday, September 11th.
