One person died and another was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital following a serious crash this morning in Oakland Township.
The two-vehicle accident happened around 6 a.m. in the 800 block of Chicora Road—about a quarter-of-a-mile west of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
It’s not clear how the crash happened, but it was a head-on collision.
Dispatchers say one person was unresponsive and entrapped. Butler County Coroner Korynne Young has confirmed there was one fatality in the crash. There were no other details available according to Young.
There was also another person involved in the crash that was seriously injured. A medical helicopter was called to the former Oakland Elementary School and flew one person to a Pittsburgh trauma center.
A portion of Chicora Road was shut down for around two hours.
