The Moniteau boys and girls basketball teams posted playoff wins last night. The Warrior boys defeated Kane 61-38 last night in the District 9 Class 2A Quarterfinals. Moniteau built a 20-point lead by halftime. They will meet Redbank Valley in the Semifinal Round Tuesday at Union high school at 7:30pm. Redbank Valley knocked off Keystone 47-39 last night in their Quarterfinal game.
The Moniteau girls defeated Westinghouse 45-42 in their Class 3A District 8-9 Quarterfinal game. Moniteau had to come-from-behind after letting a 10-point lead escape last in the game, but Alyssa Thompson made a key lay-up late to clinch the game. They will face top-seeded Karns City next Tuesday in the District 9 Semifinals at Union high school. Tip-off is 6pm.
In District 10 – Conneaut ousted the Grove City girls 42-33 in the Class 4A First Round.
