Police are providing more information on a crash on Route 422 that sent two people to the hospital last week.
The crash happened Thursday around 8:30 p.m. on Route 422 westbound on ramp from New Castle road.
According to Butler Township Police, 28-year-old Harley Pierce of Mercer was driving and swerved to avoid hitting a deer, causing her to lose control of the vehicle and hit an embankment head-on.
Both Pierce and her passenger, 30-year-old Michael Abbey of Mercer, sustained serious injuries that required both be flown to Pittsburgh hospitals.
Their current condition is unknown.
