This week marks the beginning of the North Washington Rodeo.
The festivities kick off at 6 p.m. today with a Kick-Off Party featuring Gary Burk III at the rodeo arena on Route 38 in Petrolia. Admission is free for that event and will include concessions and entertainment.
The official 65th annual sanctioned rodeo runs Tuesday through Saturday beginning at 8 p.m. each night with world champion cowboys and cowgirls from around the world in addition to meals, vendors, and music.
At a cost of $15 for adults and $9 for kids 4 to 12, the rodeo serves as the main fundraiser for the North Washington Volunteer Fire Department.
