A Slippery Rock man is facing charges after he allegedly assaulted a police officer.
The incident happened last Saturday when police were called to Old Thompson Field on Slippery Rock University’s campus for a man passed out near the track. When police arrived on scene they found 26-year-old Cameron Zaccone half awake; he was then taken into custody.
Police say while in custody, Zaccone became more agitated and at one point threw his elbow into an officer’s chest.
Zaccone was then charged with aggravated assault and public drunkenness, he is being held in the Butler County Prison on $10,000 bond.
A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for August 20.
