Butler County Emergency Services is asking residents to only call 911 for emergencies this holiday weekend.
Every year, 911 centers are flooded with non-emergency calls about fireworks. Emergency dispatchers are asking to refrain from calling 911 to report hearing fireworks. If a neighbor is setting off legal fireworks and just creating a noise nuisance, file a non-emergency complaint.
Please do not call 911 to ask about dates and times of firework shows, parades, and community events. All that information can be found on municipal websites and local news outlets.
If someone has been injured by a firework or a firework has sparked a brush or house fire, call 911.
Butler County Emergency Services does not want you to hesitate to call if your or someone’s life or property is in danger.
