At least one person was injured in a crash last night on Route 228.
The accident happened around 8 p.m. on Route 228 near the Adams Township Volunteer Fire Department.
Dispatchers say a vehicle hit a barrier and the driver was still inside the vehicle.
When crews got on scene, they found the bridge was very icy, with one member calling it a “sheet of ice.”
A portion of Route 228 was shut down so PennDOT could salt the bridge.
At least one person was taken to a Pittsburgh hospital.
Crews cleared the scene by 9 p.m.
