Paul D. Oberst, 67, of Butler, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, July 31, 2025.
Born January 25, 1958 in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Paul C. Oberst and Ernestine E. (Hepp) Boss.
Paul was a graduate of Hampton High School and went on to attend Indiana University of Pennsylvania where he earned a Bachelor Degree. He was a man of faith, and would regularly attend All Saints Parish. Paul enjoyed the beach, and was especially fond of watching the sunrise and sunset. He was a kind and gentle soul, who loved and cherished his children and 2 grandsons.
He is survived by his three children; Michael (Melissa) Oberst, Daniel Oberst, and Margaret Oberst; his two grandsons, Cameron and Cooper; his siblings; Kathleen (Bill) Wagner, Debbi (Gary) Zyra, Linda (Dan) Mohler, Tom (Kathi) Oberst, Patricia (Mike) Scherer, Elaine (Kurt) Wagner, Robert (Kathie) Oberst, and James Oberst, his long time girlfriend, Debby Solari, 10 step-siblings, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Matthew Oberst.
Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler, PA 16001.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at All Saints Parish, St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church, 1660 N. Main St. Ext., Butler, PA 16001. All are kindly asked to meet at the church.
