The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is continuing spring road project maintenance work around Butler County this week.
These activities include drainage work along Route 528 Prospect Road in Connoquenessing Township as well as Mars Evans City Road in Forward Township and Route 19 in Jackson Township.
Patching will be taking place on Hohn Farm Road in Oakland Township, while crack sealing is planned for Interstate 79 in Muddy Creek and Slippery Rock Townships.
Mowing and shoulder cutting is planned for New Castle Road in Muddy Creek and Slippery Rock Townships, along with East Butler and Mitchell Hill Roads in Summit Township and Grant Street in East Butler Borough.
Additionally, PennnDOT is beginning patch and seal work on four bridges in Summit, Adams, and Penn Townships including the bridge south of the intersection of Mars-Evans City Road and Myoma Road, the Route 228 bridge east of the intersection with Mars Valencia Road, the Route 8 bridge north of the intersection with Renfrew Road, and the Route 422 bridge east of the intersection with Geibel Road. Lane restrictions will be in place weather permitting.
Finally, lane restrictions on Route 422 will begin tomorrow from the interchange with I-79 to just after the Lake Arthur Bridge and continue through July. Crews will also be doing drainage and paving work this week on the West Park Road on-ramp from 422 with detours posted.
