The Philadelphia Flyers defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins 3-2 in a shootout last evening. Sidney Crosby scored to tie the game mid-way through the third period and forced the overtime period.
Both teams had goals waved off during the overtime period. Evgeni Malkin appeared to have scored a game-winning goal, but he was ruled to have left the bench too early on the play. The Flyers had a goal taken away with 25 seconds remaining because of an off-side play.
The Penguins visit the Minnesota Wild Thursday night.
