The Pittsburgh Penguins continued the “re-tooling” of their lineup Wednesday when they signed power forward Anthony Mantha. He brings the Penguins a goal-scoring potential with size. Mantha is 6-foot-5, 234 pounds and has been a three-time 20-goal scorer in the NHL. Mantha signed a one-year deal for $2.5 million, with an additional $2 million in possible incentives. He was one of four free agent players signed Wednesday by Penguins general manager Kyle Dubas. He also brought in former Washington defenseman Alex Alexeyev, a former #1-draft pick of the Capitals, who brings needed size as well.
