The San Diego Padres defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 8-2 Wednesday afternoon, taking two of three games in the series. Mitch Keller pitched six shutout innings for the Bucs. He allowed just three hits.
The Padres scored all eight runs between the seventh and ninth innings of the game. The Pirates had three errors in the game, including the first by Konnor Griffin, who was a late subsitution. Nick Yorke led the Bucs with three hits.
The Pirates are off today, and begin a three-game series in Chicago Friday afternoon.
