Police have charged an Oil City man who is being held in the Butler County Prison after he was found with an illegal substance.
On November 25, police were transferring 35-year-old Allen Griffin from Venango County Prison to the Butler County Prison for a courtesy hold as Griffin awaits his trial.
During the transfer, Griffin was found to be in possession of suboxone, a prescription medication for opioid use disorder.
Griffin was charged with contraband/controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance as an inmate.
He’s awaiting a preliminary hearing.
