Two people in the Western Secure Treatment Unit in Allegheny Township have been charged after they allegedly assaulted another person in the facility.
On November 18 police were called to the facility for an assault.
When officers arrived on scene, surveillance video shows 18-year-old Tyler Ricks-Young allegedly attacking another person from behind. After Ricks-Young was held back from staff, 18-year-old Richard West Jr. then attacked the victim while on the ground.
The victim suffered a broken jaw from the attack and required surgery.
Both men were charged with aggravated assault, two counts of disorderly conduct, and harassment.
They are both awaiting preliminary hearings.
