Raymond Anthony Desmond, 80, of Butler peacefully went to be with the Lord, at home with his beloved wife, Marcella at his side on Saturday, September 27, 2025. Born in Butler County on April 26, 1945, to the late Patrick and Evelyn (Kiley) Desmond and graduated Butler High School in 1963.
After he graduated, he worked for Troutman’s Department Store, then Pullman Standard, then he was a school bus driver for the Butler Area School District for 20 years. Raymond and Marcella were long time members of All Saints Parish, specifically St. Peter’s Church and St. Andrews. Raymond loved being a member of the French & Belgium Club, R.C. Men’s Club and the East Butler Fire Hall. They would often travel to all 3 clubs every day.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Marcella (Neff) Desmond who he married August 17, 1968, for 57 years of marriage, and many nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by his sister, Peggy Olsen and brother, Patrick Desmond. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, from 1-3 and 5-7 PM at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 NEW CASTLE RD. BUTLER, PA 16001.
