Congressman Mike Kelly is co-sponsoring a bill that he says will expand affordable housing options.
The bill is called the Increasing Housing in Opportunity Zones Act. Kelly says the law would give more weight to applicants for HUD grants that reside in opportunity zones.
Those zones are designated as communities that are economically distressed.
Kelly believes giving opportunity zones a better chance at HUD grants would expand affordable housing options.
