Some Seneca Valley students are welcoming a new assistant principal to their school.
Earlier this month, the school board approved the hiring of Dr. Samantha Schmitt as the assistant principal of Haine Middle School.
Dr. Schmitt is a resident of Renfrew and graduated from Duquesne University before securing her doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh.
Dr. Schmitt has more than 15 years of experience in school administration, curriculum design, professional development and education, including many roles within the Duquesne City School District.
