March is Women’s History Month and Slippery Rock University is marking the occasion with a number of special events.
SRU’s Women’s Center and Office for Inclusive Excellence hosts multiple events throughout the year but this month will include numerous virtual and in-person activities.
Those events include a Women and Allies Mentoring gathering on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Smith Student Center Ballroom. The associate dean for community impact and educational outreach at Carnegie Mellon University’s Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Sciences will speak about CMU’s initiative for gender research, mentoring and leadership strategies that close gaps in advancement and compensation called PROGRESS. Hors d’oeuvres will be served.
This event is free and open to the public but online RSVP is requested through the SRU website.
