A Slippery Rock man has been charged with rape and false imprisonment after holding a woman captive in his apartment for two days.
On Sunday, police were called to an apartment complex on the 200 block of Cornish Drive in Slippery Rock Township for a woman trapped in a bathroom.
When officers arrived on scene they were met by the suspect 34-year-old Brandon Brenner. Officers found the victim in the bathroom bruised and distressed.
The victim told police that she and Brenner got into an argument that turned physical. The woman also claimed that Brenner raped her the night before the fight.
Brenner told police the two were arguing when he grabbed the victim’s arms because she was swinging at him and he claimed the sex was consensual.
Brenner was placed in the Butler County Prison and his bail was set at $100,000.
A preliminary hearing was scheduled for June 3.
