Those receiving SNAP benefits will not get their next round of payments due to the federal government shutdown.
The USDA notified states that it would be unable to fully fund November SNAP benefits because of the shutdown. That means no benefits will be paid until a budget or continuing resolution is passed by Congress.
State officials say that unspent funds on EBT cards will still be usable, as benefits do not expire at the end of the month.
