Slippery Rock University is setting another ambitious goal for their annual Day of Giving.
Today is the 10th year for the fundraising drive and university officials hope to add to the $3 million collected so far.
Last year, over 2,000 donors participated with donations to support scholarships, clubs, student organizations and more. This year the goal is 2,500 participants. SRU students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents and other community members can join in the celebration at the Smith Student Center Ballroom from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. to participate in Giving Day activities including prizes, games and snacks.
SRU’s Day of Giving always coincides with the Founders’ Day celebration marking the anniversary of the first SRU class in 1889. Those interested in making a donation can visit the SRU Giving Day website, call the university, or mail a donation to the SRU Foundation.
