As the federal and state government shutdowns continue the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities is asking for institutions to provide flexibility.
Due to Pennsylvanians missing pay checks or delayed funding due to these shut downs, the DoBS has penned a letter urging state-chartered banks, credit unions, and other financial institutions to work with consumers on payments.
The DoBS has asked these institutions to provide short-term loan modifications, extending new credit, or waiving fees.
Consumers impacted by missed paychecks or delayed funding are encouraged to contact their financial institution.
