Sue Lee Wolfe, (Chu Insoon), 84, of Butler, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, July 16, 2025.
Born June 20, 1941, in Osaka, Japan, Chu Insoon (Sue) was raised in Seoul, Korea. In 1964, Sue and her daughter, Jackie, moved to Butler. One of her biggest joys was getting her citizenship as an American in 1974.
Sue was a jack-of-all-trades, working as a seamstress at Bobbie Brooks and as a CNA for Butler Memorial Hospital, Sunnyview Home, and multiple private families.
She was a member of All Saints Parish.
Sue loved to sew, crochet, knit, cook, and teach her granddaughters to cook. She loved to dance and play bingo; you could find Sue in her glory around people being the social butterfly that she was.
Sue is survived by her daughter, Jackie Cary and her husband, Will, of Butler; her grandchildren, Greg Toner, Jr. and his wife, Liz, and Grace Cary; her great-grandchildren, Noah Toner and Mylee Toner; four siblings; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Chu Man Jong and Chu Ok Soon, and two siblings.
Friends will be received in the Martin Funeral Home Downtown, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, on Saturday July 26, from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m.
A Blessing Service will immediately follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, with Deacon James Shope, of All Saints Parish, officiating.
