A New Castle woman is in custody after she allegedly left her 9-month-old child in a vehicle alone while she worked.
On Wednesday, police were called to business on Clay Avenue and found a child was in a vehicle alone and crying while the car was running. Police tried to call the caretaker, but could not reach her.
Police say the mother, 27-year-old Anita Keene, came out and told officers she was cleaning a business for 30 minutes.
She was charged with endangering the welfare of children, resisting arrest, and leaving a child unattended in a vehicle. Keene is being held in the Butler County Prison on $15,000 bail as she awaits a preliminary hearing.
