A Butler woman accused of screaming a racial slur and assaulting an officer in the City of Butler pled guilty and was sentenced yesterday.
In late March, police stopped 22-year-old Cierra Hefferan for allegedly failing to stop at a red light at the intersection of North Main and Brady Street.
During the stop Hefferan allegedly yelled a racial slur at the officer and refused to follow the officer’s orders. That’s when the officers placed her in handcuffs and she assaulted the officer.
She has pled guilty to aggravated assault and a DUI. She was sentenced to five days in prison, 30 months or probation, pay a fine and cost of prosecution, complete 40 hours of community service, and complete an approved alcohol highway safety school program.
