Gas prices have remained relatively even both locally as well as across the western Pennsylvania region as a whole over the past week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of yesterday, decreased by two cents to reach $3.34 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole dropped by a penny to settle at $3.35. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Greensburg at $3.03, while the most expensive is in Mercer at $3.66.
The average national gas price has stayed even over the past week at $3.14. This is six cents less than a month ago and 37 cents lower than last year at this time. The demand for gas has increased slightly but oil prices remain relatively low.
