The Pittsburgh Pirates won their ninth game in 11 games played during Grapefruit League following a 4-1 victory over Tampa Bay Monday. Mike Clevinger, who signed a free agent, minor league deal with the Bucs, and is trying to make the team, pitched three scoreless innings, allowing one hit. Outfielder Jake Mangum had two of the Pirates eight hits in the game.
The Pirates play an exhibition game against Team Columbia today as preparation for the World Baseball Classic begins.
