Butler Township has donated a large amount of money collected during their second annual Octoberfest last year.
The event at Preston Park on South Eberhart Road included a 50/50 raffle and pumpkin pull game to benefit Camp Cadet.
A State Police representative accepted a check for $5,000 to help defray a total cost of between $20,000 and $25,000 to offer the program. This activity relies on donations with participants only charged a fee of $25 per child.
The local Troop D Camp Cadet at Camp Lytherlyn for ages 12 to 15 begins in a couple of weeks.
