A Florida man is in the Butler County prison after he allegedly assaulted a woman.
Police were called to a home in Prospect on Wednesday for an active domestic incident involving a CO2 pistol. When police arrived on scene they separated the victim and the suspect 30-year-old Charles Hartmann of Florida.
According to police, the two had an argument over social media which led to Hartmann allegedly attacking the victim, who suffered injuries to the victim’s neck and back.
Police say Hartmann then tried to flee but was taken into custody. Officers were able to recover the pistol for evidence.
He’s being held on $10,000 bond and has been charged with aggravated assault, strangulation, flight to avoid apprehension, simple assault, and recklessly endangering another person.
