Scottie Scheffler won his fifth PGA Tour event of the year when he rallied to take the BMW Championship in Baltimore by two strokes over Robert MacIntyre. Scheffler erased a four-shot deficit over five holes and was aided by an 82-foot chip in for birdie on the 17th hole. The victory allowed Scheffler to join Tiger Woods to win at least five times on the PGA Tour in consecutive years. Woods did it in 2006 and 2007.
The top 30 players head to this week’s Tour Championship in Atlanta, with Scheffler attempting to become the first repeat FedEx Cup champion since the playoff series began in 2007. All 30 players will be playing to win the $10 million first-place check at the tournament.
