A third person has been charged in a theft at the Cranberry Walmart that saw someone charged thousands of dollars.
On August 14, police were called to Walmart for a wallet and fraud theft. The victim claims two women distracted them while a third stole the victim’s wallet.
After stealing the wallet, a purchase of $2383 was made at a nearby Best Buy for a laptop. A second purchase of $2499 was attempted but declined. The two women in the case, Oana Dumitru and 20-year-old Andreia Dunca, both of Florida, have been charged and are awaiting a preliminary hearing.
Police have now charged 19-year-old Diego Popa after police alleged he was the one who stole the wallet from the victim while they were distracted. He is facing several charges such as a deal in proceeds of unlawful activity, access device counterfeit, conspiracy, and more.
Popa is awaiting a preliminary hearing.
